Satish Shah Cremated: Veteran comedy actor Satish Shah passed away on Saturday. His last rites were performed today. Many actors including Rupali Ganguly, Ratna Pathak Shah, Sumeet Raghavan and Rajesh Kumar attended the funeral on Sunday. His on-screen son and daughter-in-law Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar wept bitterly. He breathed his last in a hospital in Mumbai. After fighting a battle with kidney disease, he said goodbye to the world at the age of 74.

Satish Shah died on Saturday at the age of 74 due to kidney disease. His mortal remains were brought to his home in Bandra (East) in an ambulance around 11 am on Sunday morning. Later, the same ambulance was decorated with marigold flowers and two photographs of the actor were placed on the front and rear of the vehicle. Later, the mortal remains were taken in a vehicle to the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle for the last rites, where his onscreen son Rajesh Kumar also shouldered him.

These actors came to bid last farewell
Satish Shah’s co-stars in “Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai”, actresses Rupali Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar, got emotional while bidding him a final farewell. Other members of the show’s team including actors Sumeet Raghavan, Anang Desai, Paresh Ganatra, producer JD Majethia, writer-director Aatish Kapadia and actor-director Deven Bhojani also attended the funeral. Close friends and colleagues of the actor like Pankaj Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Swaroop Sampat, Suresh Oberoi, Poonam Dhillon were also present. Other members of the film industry including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Dilip Joshi, Farah Khan, Jackie Shroff, Ali Asgar, Tiku Talsania, Sudhir Pandey, Sharat Saxena and Avtar Gill also attended the funeral.
Worked in more than 100 films
A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Satish Shah first acted in small roles in films like “Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan”, “Gaman” and “Umrao Jaan”. Later, he made his mark with his acting in films and TV shows like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron’, ‘Malamaal’, ‘Hero Hiralal’, ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi’, ‘Filmi Chakkar’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, ‘Saathiya’, ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’. He has worked in more than 100 films.
