Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday said that if Bihar Assembly elections are held in a free and fair manner, the NDA government will be overthrown and replaced by a government that will work for the poor, women and youth. Addressing an election rally in Motihari, Vadra alleged that the NDA government does not respect the people of Bihar, who have contributed a lot to the development of the country.

He said that BJP leaders urge people to vote for NDA not for development but in the name of religion. If this election is free and fair, then the people of Bihar will overthrow this government and vote for a government that works for the poor, women and youth. Criticizing the NDA government for poor infrastructure in the state, the Congress leader also claimed that 27 bridges have collapsed in Bihar in the last three years. On the other hand, till 1 pm, 42.31 percent voting took place on 121 seats of the first phase. According to the information received from the Election Commission, on average 42.31 percent voting took place till 1 pm. Till now, highest 46.73 percent voting has taken place in Gopalganj district, whereas in Patna the lowest 37.72 percent voters have exercised their franchise. In other districts, 42.60 in Vaishali, 43.03 in Samastipur, 46.02 in Begusarai, 42.94 in Khagaria, 41.47 in Munger, 46.37 in Lakhisarai, 41.23 in Sheikhpura, 41.87 in Nalanda, 41.15 in Bhojpur, 44.16 in Madhepura, 44.20 percent voting was recorded in Saharsa, 39.35 in Darbhanga, 45.41 in Muzaffarpur, 41.20 in Siwan, 43.06 in Saran and 41.10 percent in Buxar. According to the Election Commission, voting is going on peacefully.

Bhojpuri cinema superstar and power star Pawan Singh reached his native village Jokhari under Badhara assembly constituency on Thursday morning and cast his vote. He reached the polling station amidst security and supporters and went to booth number 152 and exercised his franchise. After voting, he appealed to the people to strengthen democracy. Pawan Singh said that voting is not just a right, but the strongest power for building the future. He said that every voter should vote keeping in mind the development, education, roads, health and betterment of the area. The Chief Electoral Office said that voting is going on smoothly at all the polling stations in Bihar. The Election Commission of India is following all standard protocols to ensure that the voting process is fair, transparent and seamless. There is no basis for such misleading propaganda. Voting for 121 seats began at 7 am amid tight security arrangements and will continue till 5 pm, an official said.
