Car Accident: Five people died in a horrific road accident on Friday in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh. A speeding car lost control and collided with a barrier on the expressway and fell into a ditch, resulting in the death of five people. Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar told PTI that the accident occurred on Friday morning on the eight-lane Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Raoti police station area, about 30 km from the district headquarters. He said that the car was going from Delhi to Mumbai. After the driver lost control, the vehicle broke the expressway barrier and fell into a ditch. The officer said the vehicle was going at a high speed and broke a strong aluminum barrier before falling into the ditch. He said five people, including a 15-year-old boy and a 70-year-old man, died in the accident.
Accident on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
Superintendent of Police Kumar said that the driver might have dozed off while driving, due to which the accident occurred. A car broke the railing and fell into a ditch near Bhetiya village, about 25 kilometers from Ratlam district headquarters on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Due to this, five people in the car died. A 15-year-old teenager is also said to be among the dead. The deceased are said to be residents of Kurla area of Mumbai and Vadodara of Gujarat. On receiving the information, Raoti police station in-charge Surendra Singh reached the spot with the shepherd team. Employees of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway also reached the spot. Police and employees removed the bodies of the people in the car and sent them to the medical college. According to the police, it is not known what time the incident took place. The time and reason of the incident will be known from the CCTV cameras installed on the highway.
Jam on the road after the accident
At present, efforts are being made to identify the deceased. Police reached the spot and said that a crowd of people gathered after the accident. Traffic was disrupted due to traffic jams on both sides of the road. On the other hand, in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, two people died and two others were seriously injured when a car went out of control and collided with a tree on Thursday night. This incident happened near Ahorwa-Bhawani drain of Inhauna police station area of Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh. According to officials, the vehicle overturned after hitting a tree, killing Rag Bahadur (70) and Vinay Kumar (35) on the spot. Rahul (30) and Amar Bahadur (45) were seriously injured. He was taken to Lucknow Trauma Center for treatment. Inhauna police station in-charge Vivek Kumar Singh said that the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
