Congress's big claim regarding Kerala Municipal Corporation elections

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Elections: Congress and CPM have once again come face to face in Kerala. Congress claimed that at the behest of the Left party, the name of our candidate was removed from the voter list.

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Elections : Congress on Thursday targeted the rigging in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation of Kerala. The party said there was a conspiracy behind removing the name of its candidate Vaishna SL from the vote list and demanded strict action against the officials involved. Opposition leader in the state assembly, VD Satheesan, issued a statement accusing the party of being from the CPM and said it exposed the cowardice of the ruling Left party. The Congress leader said that any officer who has removed the name of the candidate at the behest of CPI(M) is not fit to hold the post.

War broke out over name removal

The leader of the opposition in the Kerala Assembly said that accountability of officials should be fixed for such actions, because CPI(M) is not going to remain in power forever. Apart from this, senior party leader K Muraleedharan also told media persons here that some forces were working behind the scenes to remove Vaishna’s name. He further said that we will find out who they were. We will take legal action against them. He also raised the question as to what was the need for such cheap politics. Muraleedharan further said that let the candidates compete and during that time people can choose whomever they want as their representative.

Vaishna’s name added to voter list

After hearing the entire debate, the State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday put Vaishna’s name back in the vote list. The SEC’s direction has been given following the order of the Kerala High Court, in which it was asked to consider his petition to bring back his name in the voter list for the upcoming civic elections. Vaishna had approached the court after receiving the notice from SEC, in which she said that her name has been removed from the voter list. After this, the SEC held a hearing on November 18 and canceled the order under which his name was removed from the voter list. However, the Commission has once again put the name back.
