Ekadashi fast is considered very important. Ekadashi fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. By fasting on Ekadashi you can get the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Mokshada Ekadashi gives salvation
It is believed that fasting on Mokshada Ekadashi leads to salvation. By observing fast on the day of Ekadashi and worshiping Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi, one gets salvation after death. By observing fast on this day, ancestors also get salvation. Geeta Jayanti is also celebrated on this day, because Lord Krishna gave the knowledge of Geeta to Arjun on this day. However, people observing this fast should keep some important rules in mind. If you do not follow some rules related to Tulsi on this day, your fast becomes futile.

When is Mokshada Ekadashi
Mokshada Ekadashi can fall in any month of November or December. According to the Muhurta, Ekadashi sometimes falls between two days, in such a situation people are confused as to which day Ekadashi is falling this year. According to the Panchag, the fast of Ekadashi falls on Monday, 1st December. Let us tell you, Ekadashi Tithi will start on 30th November at 9:29 pm and will end on 1st December at 7:01 pm. Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be broken the next day i.e. on 2nd December. The time for Parana will be from 6:51 to 9:04 in the morning.
Keep these things in mind
- Ekadashi fast is observed without water. Mother Tulsi also remains dehydrated on this day, hence do not offer water to Tulsi even by mistake on the day of Ekadashi. Offering water breaks the fast of Mother Tulsi.
- Take care of cleanliness around Tulsi on the day of Ekadashi. Do not keep slippers, broom or garbage near Tulsi.
- Even touching Tulsi on the day of Ekadashi is considered taboo. But you must light a ghee lamp near Tulsi in the evening.
- Circumambulate Tulsi on this day. You should revolve around Tulsi seven or eleven times and chant the mantras of Tulsi.
- During Ekadashi puja, offer basil leaves to Lord Vishnu. But do not pluck the leaves, you can offer fallen leaves or pluck the leaves a day before and keep them.
