CM Bhupendra Patel: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday said ‘good earning’ and ‘good life’ should be the two pillars to accelerate the journey to achieve the goal of ‘Developed Gujarat’ by 2047. Speaking at the concluding session of the 12th Chintan Shivir at Dharampur town in Valsad district, he said the government has prepared a roadmap for a “Developed Gujarat in 2047” in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India in 2047. Patel said that the mantra of ‘good earning-good life’ is inspired by ‘good thinking-good performance’. He said that officers should perform their duties with full ownership, dedication, responsibility and commitment towards public welfare. The Chief Minister said that true satisfaction is achieved only when wherever we are, we give our best and contribute to the development of the state and the well-being of the common citizens.

Villages must be lifted out of poverty

He said that regular field visits, presence on the spot, solving real problems with depth and sensitivity and a proactive approach will significantly increase efficiency. He further said that self-assessment of one’s actions will help in determining the right direction of development. He said that the Chintan Shivir initiative, started by Narendra Modi in 2003 when he was the Chief Minister of the state, is giving fruitful results due to the hard work of Team Gujarat and collective thinking for the public interest. Citing Modi’s speech given during the first Chintan Shivir in 2003, Patel said that our approach should be unified. We have to lift the villages out of poverty so that not a single family remains below the poverty line. As India moves into the 21st century, our collective contribution should help make it India’s century.

Officers should work with team spirit

Said that this is not just a political or official program, it is a small effort for the upliftment of humanity. As a result, millions of people have come out of poverty and India is moving towards becoming the third largest economic power in the world. Patel said the state has driven overall development in Gujarat and the per capita income has increased from Rs 19,823 to Rs 3,22,000 in the last two and a half decades. The Chief Minister advised the officers to work with team spirit and implement the suggestions received from the collective brainstorming sessions during the three-day camp for overall development. He expressed his resolve to launch a mass campaign against malnutrition. Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi urged that serious thinking on various topics of the camp will help in the welfare of the most marginalized sections of the society and pave the way for the progress of the state. He said that whatever has been learned in the camp should be taken to the grassroots level.
