Bus catches fire after hitting truck, 3 passengers dead, 24 injured

He has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured. A bus collided head-on with a truck on the Balrampur-Gonda road in the early hours of Tuesday. After the accident, the bus collided with an electric pole, due to which the bus caught fire. Three passengers died and more than 24 were injured in the accident. The incident happened around 3 am when the bus was going from Sonauli to Delhi. Some Nepali citizens were also included among the passengers. However, the exact number of people traveling in the bus is not yet clear. Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar said that prima facie the fuel tank of the bus caught fire due to the collision. He said that three bodies have been recovered from the bus, while 15 people have been rescued.

More than 40 Nepali passengers were traveling in the bus

District Magistrate Vipin Jain said that the condition of six of the injured is said to be critical. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Lucknow. District Magistrate Jain said that the minor injured are being sent to Nepal and Delhi. Bus passenger Shiv Bahadur, who narrowly escaped the accident, told that we had left for Delhi from Sonauli border. There were more than 40 Nepalese passengers in the bus. At around 3 o’clock in the night, when the bus was passing near Phulwaria bypass intersection of Balrampur, a truck coming from the overbridge rammed into it. He told that the collision was so strong that the bus was dragged for several meters and collided with an electric pole. As soon as the collision occurred, there was a huge explosion and the bus caught fire. People started breaking doors and windows to escape. Somehow we also ran to save our lives.

Proper treatment is being given to the injured.

Shiv Bahadur said that somehow I risked my life and took out my wife Purnima and two-year old daughter Shivangi. Meanwhile, local people reached the spot and after some time the police also reached. Passenger Shiv Bahadur told that the police saved us and took us to the hospital in an ambulance. Three passengers remained trapped inside the bus and could not be saved. Said that this accident was a terrible night for all of us. If we did not get timely help from local people and police, many more people would have been burnt alive. District Magistrate Jain said that the injured are being given proper treatment. He himself is keeping an eye on the condition of the injured.
