Saudi Arabia Bus Accident: A bus filled with Indian Haj pilgrims met with an accident in Saudi Arabia. The bus was going towards Madina when it collided with a diesel tanker.

Saudi Arabia Bus Accident: A bus carrying Indian Haj pilgrims has met with a major accident in Saudi Arabia. Late at night the bus was going from Mecca to Medina when it collided with a diesel tanker. 42 Indians are feared dead in this accident. This bus was carrying Umrah pilgrims from Hyderabad, who had gone to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has also expressed grief over the accident and directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to get complete information. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has also issued a helpline number.

Union Minority and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju posted on Twitter, “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic bus accident on the Medina-Mecca highway in Saudi Arabia, in which several Indian pilgrims were killed. We are in touch with our embassy officials, who are gathering more information and providing all possible assistance. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families…” He has also issued a helpline number – 8002440003. (Toll Free), 0122614093, 0126614276, 0556122301 (Whatsapp).
Indian Embassy is in constant touch
The Indian Consulate General in Saudi Arabia has issued a helpline number. The toll-free number is 8002440003. The Indian Embassy said that a 24-hour control room has also been set up. The Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah are providing full assistance. Embassy and Consulate officials are also in touch with the concerned authorities of Telangana State to coordinate with the concerned families.

Children and women were also included in the journey
Mufti Asif, a resident of Hyderabad, said, “I am a resident of Hyderabad. There were around 45-46 people among the pilgrims and the bus met with an accident before reaching Madinah. This is the information we have got till now. Seven members of my family were in that bus. We request the government to provide visa facility for our family members so that we can go there.” Let us tell you, 20 women and 11 children are also included among the passengers. All the Haj pilgrims had completed Umrah in Mecca and were heading towards Medina. This accident happened to him on the way.
