On Sunday, Western Railway successfully completed the re-recitation of bridge number five between Mumbai Central and Grant Road stations.
Mumbai: Western Railway successfully completed the work of re-ordering of bridge number five between Mumbai Central and Grant Road stations. West Railway existing Bridge number five on midnight of 8/9 February between Mumbai Central and Grant Road stations by Western Railways. A major block was taken to replace steel girders from PSC slab.
Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, said that the said bridge is a scive bridge with 49 degrees inclination and 12 meters spread. The existing steel girder was replaced by a total length of 11,565 mm and a depth of 650 mm specially designed from non-Andhil PSC slabs. A total of 10 slabs were launched with the Belist Retaeners during the block period. He said that in view of the lack of space, the crane had to be placed on fast lines for re-ordering work, which had to remove the overhead equipment (OHE) of three railway tracks.

The Chief Public Relations Officer said that about 13 hours of blocks were required for this work, but due to efficient execution and dedicated efforts of officers and employees, the work was successfully completed within 10 hours. The Chief Public Relations Officer said that the success of this work is a notable achievement in providing better and safe train travel for passengers.
