On Saturday, May 24, 2024, a senior police officer said that under the ‘Operation Muskan’, an initiative to find out the missing children, a total of 22 minor girls have been introduced to their families in the tribal -dominated Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh in the last 20 days. Balaghat’s Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh told the news agency PTI, “We are conducting special campaigns to ensure that the missing girls are not victims of smuggling and do not get into the pretense of Maoists, who are facing lack of heavy manpower in the whole country. Along with efforts, modern technology and deployment of information network, the smile has returned to the faces of many families with constant hard work under challenging circumstances.

Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh said, “Under the Operation Muskan, in the last 20 days, Balaghat police have discovered 22 minor girls and introduced them to their families. This includes the recovering 17 -year -old girl by Bharveli police from Idukki in Kerala. She was introduced to her family on Saturday. Lalbarra police recovered two minor girls from Andhra Pradesh in the last seven days. The minor girl was recovered, Changotola police recovered a missing person from the neighboring Maharashtra and the Kotwali police recovered a child in Vidisha and introduced her to her families.

This is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which is implemented by the State Police Force. This campaign is conducted in various states, such as Jharkhand, Telangana, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
