After Thailand, PM Modi on Sri Lanka tour after Thailand

PM Modi Sri Lanka Visit: PM Modi signed several important agreements between India and Thailand. Apart from this, he also met Bangladesh acting PM Mohammad Yunus.

PM Modi Sri Lanka Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now left for a three -day visit to Sri Lanka after Thailand. He will discuss further strengthening cooperation in important areas like defense, energy, trade and contact between the two countries during this visit. Prime Minister Modi had earlier attended the sixth BIMSTEC summit held in Bangkok, where he was given a grand welcome.

During his visit to Thailand, PM Modi signed several important agreements between India and Thailand. Apart from this, he also met acting Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh. In this meeting, he talked about keeping the Indo-Bangladesh relations strong and suggested to avoid unnecessary rhetoric.

There can be many important agreements on Sri Lanka tour

Now during this important visit to Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Modi will meet President Anura Kumara Disanayake. It is noteworthy that Modi will be the first foreign leader who will be welcomed by President Disanayake. Anuraya Kumara took over as the President of Sri Lanka in September last year. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi went to Sri Lanka in 2019 and this is his fourth bilateral journey after 2015.

Experts believe that this journey will give new strength to the relations between India and Sri Lanka. Especially there is a possibility of signing of MoU between the two countries regarding cooperation in the defense sector, which can lead to significant progress in bilateral defense relations.
