Musk vs Apple: Tech world veteran Alan Musk has made serious allegations against Apple. Musk says that Apple is deliberately keeping his app X and Grok out of its “Must Have” section, while they are in the top ranking worldwide. They allege that this step is a conspiracy to damage competition and suppress other AI companies.
Musk’s displeasure
Posting on X late Monday night, Musk asked, “When X is the world’s number-1 news app and Grok is at number-5 in all apps, why does Apple not keep them in ‘Must Have’? Is it politics?” Grok is the product of AI company XAI of Musk and its popularity has increased rapidly recently.
Accused of antitrust violation
Musk accused Apple that he was making such policies that could not top the AI company other than Openai. He called it a violation of the antitrust law and said that XAI will take legal action immediately on it.
Apple’s old record
Apple is also implicated in antitrust cases before. Recently an American judge found that the company broke the court order in the case related to Fortnite manufacturer EPIC Games. The European Union has also imposed a fine of billions of dollars on Apple.
Top app ranking
Till Tuesday morning, Tiktok was first, Tinder second and Duolingo at number three in the App Store. Openai’s chatgpt was at number seven, while X and Grok did not find a place in the ‘Must Have’ section.
