AntF will break the waist of drug mafia in Maharashtra

The newly formed Anti-Narcotics Task Force will especially deal with matters associated with the entire Maharashtra and inter-state drug trafficking network.

Mumbai: In Maharashtra, the Fadnavis government has geared up to completely ban drugs and drugs. The government believes that drugs promote crime. The government has formed the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (AntF) to completely tighten it completely. The newly formed Anti-Narcotics Task Force (AntF) of Maharashtra Police will work ranging from tightening drug trafficking, prosecution to coordination with central agencies. AntF will especially deal with matters associated with the entire Maharashtra and inter-state drug trafficking network.

Government approves 346 posts for ANTF

Senior IPS officer Sharda Raut has been appointed as the first head of the task force. The deputy DIG Praveen Patil of the force has been made. A senior official said on Saturday that in February, the government had approved 346 posts for AntF. When officers and other personnel are appointed from the state police, it will start working in the coming days. The purpose of the task force is to eliminate drug trafficking and its use. This will investigate and prosecute cases. Narco will prepare a doseer on criminals. Apart from this, it will coordinate with the agencies of central and other states as the narco-mantra center of Maharashtra, as well as spread awareness against drugs.

Headquarters will be held in Pune and Nagpur

AntF will have two divisions, headquartered in Pune and Nagpur. Its head will be SP. Pune Division will monitor matters in Konkan, Western Maharashtra and North Maharashtra districts, while Nagpur division will deal with Marathwada and Vidarbha districts. Mumbai is excluded from the jurisdiction of AntF. Because the state capital already has anti-drug agencies like Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the state and Narcotics Control Bureau of the Central Government (NCB), Customs, Revenue Intelligence Directorate. The local police will continue the campaign against drug cases, but the cases which will have a statewide or interstate influence will be handed over to AntF on the instructions of the Director General of Police.

District wise list will be made of drug smugglers and vendors

AntF will also make a district -wise list of drug smugglers and local vendors. It will also work in punishment in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act. A senior police officer said that the formation of ANTF will definitely help in taking effective action against drug smugglers. It will also help in breaking their supply and delivery networks. Recently, several Mefedron construction units were busted in rural areas of Maharashtra including Nashik, Latur, Sangli and Kolhapur. The official said that drugs were being ordered from other states including Rajasthan, Gujarat and Telangana. ANTF will tighten the screws on this network.
