Counterfeit branded jeans in Delhi: Three shopkeepers have been arrested on charges of making and selling fake branded jeans in Sultanpuri area of Outer Delhi, an official gave this information on Saturday. He said that the accused have been identified as Sharif (29), Javed (35) and Salman (29). Outside Delhi Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Sachin Sharma said in an official statement, “LEVI Strauss & Co., DKH RETAIL LTD. (SuperDry), Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, and Zara, Messrs Authorized by Messrs Priti Consulting India Private Limited, on 30th July.” He said that in the complaint, it has been alleged that the people of these brands and fake jeans with trademarks were being made and sold in Kiradi Suleman Nagar and surrounding areas.
Police raided three locations
The DCP said that the police conducted continuously raids on the first floor of a property located at B-B-block located in Munni Wali Gali and Kirari Suleman Nagar located in three locations-A-135 Hari Enclave, Kirari Suleman Nagar. He further said, “During the coordinated raids conducted by the District Investigation Unit (DIU) of the outer district, a total of 684 fake jeans, 350 open levy labels and three sewing machines used in illegal trade were seized from three different places.” Police said in a statement that during the search, a large stock of fake Levi branding jeans, open labels and sewing equipment used for tagging and branding were recovered.
‘Failure to show valid documents’

A case has been registered under sections 103 and 104 of the Trademark Act at Sultanpuri police station. Police said that the accused have been arrested and seized materials have been sent for further investigation. He informed that further investigation is on to detect the source of fake goods and the possible distribution network.
