Development in agriculture sector: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said on Sunday that the agriculture sector of the state is moving very fast. Farmers are constantly moving towards high productivity, stability and prosperity. Khandu said in a post on X that under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, an amount of Rs 142.67 crore has been transferred directly to 99,656 farmers. He said that this direct financial assistance has strengthened the confidence of our farmers and has helped them invest more in their fields. The Chief Minister also informed that soil health cards have been provided to 1,02,295 farmers, so that they can understand the soil condition and adopt scientific agricultural practices.

23.25 crore released for chemical free farming

He said that healthy soil is the foundation of healthy crops, and we are ensuring that our farmers get the right knowledge to make permanent use of their land. Regarding irrigation, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that 26,163 hectares of agricultural land has been covered under the PM-Flame more crop program and 5,658 farmers have benefited through efficient micro irrigation facilities. He said in the post that water use efficiency is the key to modern farming and our farmers are adopting it. Chief Minister Pema Khandu also underlined the state’s encouragement for organic farming. He said that 15,099 farmers have been supported under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development Project, in which Rs 23.25 crore has been released to promote chemical free farming.

Modern agricultural equipment is also distributed

He said that organic farming is not only environmentally friendly, but also increases the market price of our product. Chief Minister Khandu said that 96,492 farmer credit cards (KCCs) have been issued in the state, achieving 99.26 percent saturation. He said that this ensures that almost every eligible farmer now has access to the loan on time, removing dependence on informal sources. To modernize agricultural practices, the government has also distributed 42,418 modern agricultural equipment in the last nine years. Chief Minister Khandu said that equipment and technology are empowering our farmers to increase productivity and reduce manual hard work.
