Cricket Australia CEO Tod Greenberg believes that the aggressive style of the ongoing Test series between India and England will prove to be a major attraction for the upcoming Ashes match-day tickets.
India Vs England Test Series: The last match of the five -Test series between Team India and England is being played at the Oval. This series has been very exciting. The players of both teams have seen a sharp venture on many occasions. This is the reason that now its impact can be seen on the ticket sales of Ashes. Cricket Australia CEO Tod Greenberg believes that the aggressive style of the ongoing Test series between India and England will prove to be a major attraction for the upcoming Ashes match-day tickets.
When will the Ashes series start?
The Ashes between Australia and England will begin in 2025–26 November, and Greenberg hopes that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will cross the total number of 837,879 spectators during 2024-25. Greenberg told Sydney Morning Herald, “This is fantastic, isn’t it? It is a fan as a fan (India vs. England Series for Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy) is excellent cricket.” In addition to the Ashes, it was the highest audience Test series in Australian history and is recorded at the 946,750 viewers, which was built during the 1936–37 Ashes, when Sir Donald Bradman was at his peak. He further said, “I am sure when our English friends come, everyone will have their own opinion and we are eagerly waiting for it. I love their way of playing cricket and I am desperate to see them on our earth.”
India-England series is exciting
In the ongoing series between India and England, there has been a lot of conflict between the players of both teams. The advice given by Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir to Oval Curator Lee Fortis has also increased the controversy. Greenberg said that the pre-cell of the Ashes series tickets has doubled from the border-gavaskar series tickets. He said, “It will be great to see this cricket before he comes here on this Ashes series tour. It will sell more tickets from this. We feel that it is worth talking.” According to the CA estimate, the first day tickets of the five Ashes Tests in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney have been sold. Meanwhile, the allocation of tickets for the first, second and third days in Gaba, Adelaide Oval and SCG has also ended.
