Controversy related to trophy
However, a big controversy also arose amid the victory of Team India’s victory. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi refused to give the trophy to the Indian team. The Indian team also made it clear that they will not take the trophy from Naqvi’s hands. As a result, the entire presentation ceremony remained incomplete and the Indian players returned from the ground without a photo session without the trophy.
BCCI decision
According to sources, BCCI had already told ACC that Team India will not take a trophy from their hands due to Naqvi’s anti-India thinking. This was the reason that the atmosphere became stressful after the match. BCCI is now going to take this matter serious. Saikia said, “In the ICC’s Dubai conference in November, we will register a strong protest against Naqvi.”
