Defence Ministry: India has taken a big step to further strengthen its defense capability. In fact, on Thursday, the Defense Ministry has approved defense procurement proposals worth about Rs 79 thousand crores. These proposals include Nag missile system, amphibious warfare ships, electronic intelligence system and many modern military equipment. Let us tell you that its approval was given in the meeting of Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), which was presided over by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
big deal
This is the second big defense deal of this year. Earlier on August 5, projects worth Rs 67,000 crore were approved. This new decision is being considered as a step to take India’s defense preparedness to a new level after Operation Sindoor. Many major approvals were given for the Navy in this meeting. Now the Indian Navy is going to get Landing Platform Dock (LPD), 30 mm Naval Surface Gun (NSG), Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT), Electro Optical Infrared Track System and Smart Ammunition. LPD ships will help the Navy in conducting amphibious operations (both at sea and on land) along with the Army and Air Force. These ships will also play a big role in disaster relief, humanitarian aid and peace missions.

DRDO’s indigenous torpedo
The special thing is that ALWT has been developed completely with indigenous technology, which has been created by DRDO’s Naval Science and Technological Laboratory. This torpedo is capable of targeting conventional, nuclear or small submarines of the enemy. Apart from this, purchase of Nag Missile System (NAMIS) Mk-II, Ground Based Mobile Electronic Intelligence System (GBMES) and High Mobility Vehicles (HMV) for the Indian Army has also been approved. With the arrival of these missiles, the army’s ability to destroy enemy tanks, bunkers and field fortifications will further increase. At the same time, the GBMES system will keep an electronic eye on the enemy’s activities 24×7.
Indian Air Force
CLRTS/DS (Collaborative Long Range Target Saturation/Destruction System) has also been approved for the Air Force. This state-of-the-art system is capable of automatic take-off, landing and target delivery. Overall, this decision is not only going to increase the strength of the Indian Army manifold, but it is also another concrete step towards self-reliant India. India is now more prepared, modern and self-reliant than ever before, ready to protect its borders.
