Thane Double Murder Case: The double murder case in Thane, Mumbai, shook the entire Maharashtra last month. Now the police have taken a big step in this case and imposed MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) on 7 accused. Police say that he is not a normal criminal, but a member of an organized criminal gang, who has been involved in violent incidents for the last 10 years.
Old enmity
According to Thane police, the main accused Vicky Mhatre and his gang are behind this incident. These people targeted 42 -year -old Praful Tangri due to old enmity. It is said that the accused were monitoring their activities for several days. On August 11, when Praful was sitting in his office (Khardi village, Bhiwandi), the gang attacked with swords and deadly weapons.
Brother also became a victim
During the attack, Praful’s 22 -year -old cousin Chetan Tangri, who was also involved in the office staff, came to save him. However, the accused were not going to spare him either. Chetan was also brutally attacked, killing him on the spot. After this double murder, the Bhiwandi taluka police immediately registered an FIR. In this, sections of the Indian Code (BNS) and Arms Act were imposed. After this, the police launched a big search operation. Many teams were formed, technical surveillance and intelligence input were resorted to. As a result, all the 7 accused were caught one by one.
Crime’s black face
Investigation revealed that this gang is active in the world of crime since 2013. They have already been lodged allegations like keeping illegal weapons, attacking, attempting to murder and making illegal crowds. Police say that due to the criminal background of the accused and the involvement in the continuous organized manner, they have been imposed on them.
Further investigation continues
Thane SP Dr. D.S. Swamy told that the police is currently investigating the network of this gang. It is also being investigated whether their hand has been in other incidents as well. After MCOCA, now the legal scope for the accused will become even more tough.
