Bihar Elections: Voting is taking place in full swing in 122 assembly constituencies of Bihar on Tuesday. Till 1 pm in the second and final phase of assembly elections, 47.62 percent of the 3.7 crore voters exercised their franchise. Kishanganj district recorded the highest voting percentage so far at 51.86 percent. This was followed by Gayaji (50.95) and Jamui (50.91). The lowest turnout was 43.39 percent in Madhubani. This was followed by Nawada (43.45) and Bhagalpur (45.09). Fate of 1,302 candidates decided

However, Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore, considered the ‘X factor’ in the elections, believes that the increase in voting percentage is because the people of the state were looking for an alternative. Voting started at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm. In this phase, the electoral fate of 1,302 candidates including many ministers of Nitish Kumar government will be decided. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged voters to exercise their franchise in the last phase of voting and create a new voting record. Said that today is the second and final phase of voting in Bihar assembly elections. I urge all voters to participate enthusiastically and create a new voting record.

Voting appeal to youth

Nitish Kumar said that I especially urge my young friends of the state, who are voting for the first time, to not only vote themselves but also inspire others to do so. The Prime Minister said that voting is not only our right but also a responsibility. He said in a social media post that I appeal to the voters to exercise their franchise in the second phase of Bihar Assembly elections. The districts where voting is taking place include West and East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj, all of which share borders with Nepal. Most of these districts fall in the Seemanchal region, where the Muslim population is high. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that by pressing the vote button, people are blessing the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ of the double engine government.
