CBI investigation : The CBI (CBI) in December last year has taken an investigation into the murder of a person allegedly by a Bihar Police Deputy SP (DSP) and his bodyguard at a dinner party in Sasaram in Rohtas district. Based on the statement made by two police officers and the brother of a victim, the agency has re -recorded three FIRs of the state police. The case focuses on the allegations that Rana Om Prakash and his friends gathered to celebrate the birthday of their friend Shivam Singh, when Deputy Superintendent (Traffic) Adil Bilal and his bodyguard Chandramouli Nagia came with unknown persons and started making inquiries. When Om Prakash and his friends opposed it, Bilal and Nagia threatened him and suddenly shot him with a service revolver, in which Prakash died on the spot, while two others Atul Singh and Vinod Pal were injured.

Police accused of saving DSP

According to Nagia, he and Bilal were chasing a bike rider who entered the premises in which Prakash and others were present. On seeing the police, he attacked Nagia and Bilal and tried to snatch their service guns. In this clash, the revolver accidentally went on. The gathered mob attacked the policemen, who had to firing bullets to save their lives. Nagia said in the FIR lodged on the basis of his statement. The fact accepted in this case is that one person has died and two other persons were injured when they gathered at the scene. Justice Sandeep Kumar had said that two more FIRs have been registered. One by the bodyguard of one DSP and the other by the local SHO, which makes it clear that the incident occurred. Justice Kumar said that prima facie it seems that the police is trying to save the DSP, who is accused of firing the deceased.

Police cannot record unilateral statements: Court

He said that the FIR lodged at the behest of the bodyguard of the Deputy Superintendent of Police and the SHO of the local police station seems to be a prior-time to control the story and distort the direction of the investigation. The police cannot record unilateral/deformed statements in a hurry and thus cannot prove the victim’s statement wrong. The judge said that in the current case, prima facie it seems that the police have been trying to prove the case recorded by the petitioner about the murder of their brother from the beginning. He said that police officers themselves are accused in the present case. It would not be unfair to see the petitioner’s argument that the incident should be investigated in depth to highlight the truth. It is mandatory to ensure that the purpose of justice is fulfilled. He said that this challenge can be faced by highlighting the real truth by the body of competent, reliable, fair and fair personnel like CBI.
