BJP accuses Congress of giving wrong information to the assembly

Karnataka Politics: BJP targeted the state government and said that Congress’s dinner politics is not giving time to the ministers to prepare themselves and respond to the issues raised before coming to the House.

Karnataka Politics : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday accused Karnataka government minister Laxmi Hebbalkar of giving wrong information to the state assembly. BJP also appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to stop the dinner politics of the ruling Congress till the end of the current assembly session. House opposition leader R Ashok claimed that such dinner politics can affect the work of ministers. He was clearly talking about ministers attending dinner meetings amid the ongoing tussle within the ruling party for the post of Chief Minister.

Ministers are not able to answer questions

Taking aim at the state government, BJP said that Congress’s dinner politics is not giving time to the ministers to prepare themselves and respond to the issues raised before coming to the House. When BJP MLA Mahesh Tenginkai asked in the Assembly that the amount of Griha Lakshmi Scheme was not being credited to the beneficiary’s account, the Minister replied that the money till August had been cleared. After this, BJP MLL told that still two months’ money has not been credited. So this Hebbalkar said that it is not so. On this Ashok said that the minister even insisted that the members understand what she was saying. As if you were saying something to a dumb person. At this point, CM Siddaramaiah intervened and said that the minister was just saying that please understand, she did not mean that the person raising the question is dumb.

Asked for information about credit of installments

He said that the next day the BJP MLA had sought information from the Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department of Dharwad about the February and March installments being credited to the beneficiaries. Ashok further said that the officer has replied in the letterhead that the Griha Lakshmi money for the months of February and March had not been released to the beneficiaries. He also said that similar responses have been received from officials of Gadag and Haveri districts. Accusing Hebbalkar of giving wrong information to the House, Ashok asked how to trust the answers or statements of the ministers in this House. This is like insulting the House and that is why this situation has arisen due to ministers getting involved in dinner politics.
