New Delhi: The BJP said on Thursday that ‘Hindu terrorism’ has broken with the acquittal of all the 7 accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. The BJP asked the Congress leadership to apologize for defaming the innocent persons as terrorists. BJP IT department chief Amit Malviya said that Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should apologize unconditionally from Hindus. Many of his colleagues also reiterated him. The seven accused acquitted by a special court in Mumbai include former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit. In September 2008, six people were killed and 101 were injured in the blasts near a mosque in Malegaon city of Maharashtra.
Terrorist told innocent persons
Special Judge AK Lahoti appointed for hearing of cases of National Investigation Agency (NIA), highlighted several flaws in the prosecution case and investigation conducted. The court said that the accused are entitled to the benefit of doubt. After the verdict, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that Hindu terrorism has broken. In a post on X, he said that today the court has acquitted all the accused, which reveals how the Congress branded innocent persons as terrorists to satisfy political narratives and to please vote banks. He said that this was not just a legal decision, but was a moral prosecution on those who maligned an entire religion for electoral benefits. Bhatia said in his post that who will be held accountable for years of insults, injustice and media trials? Will Rahul Gandhi apologize to the country and all Hindus?

According to Malaviya, the “terrible conspiracy” of the Congress has not only collapsed, but also “buried” with the acquittal of all the seven accused in the case.
