Bihar Election: All political parties have intensified preparations for the Bihar assembly elections. For fair and transparent elections, the BJP has demanded from the Election Commission that more vigilance should be taken in the identity of women wearing burqas. Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal on Saturday demanded the Election Commission to hold the upcoming assembly elections in one or two phases. He urged the Election Commission to ensure that the faces of women coming to the polling stations should be matched with the voter ID card wearing a burqa. The BJP delegation met the Election Commission team headed by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Jaiswal, who led the BJP delegation, requested the Chief Election Commissioner for adequate deployment of paramilitary forces in areas with booth capturing and intimidation of voters.

Paramilitary forces should be deployed in villages

After the meeting, the BJP president said that we have requested the Election Commission to hold elections in one or two phases. There is no need to phase the election process. Also, matching the faces of voters, especially women wearing burqas, should be matched with the concerned EPIC card so that only real voters can exercise their franchise. He further said that we have also requested that paramilitary forces should be deployed in villages with heavy population of weak classes like extremely backward classes and practice like flag march to awaken confidence in voters.

Demand for election as soon as possible

BJP President Jaiswal said that the deployment of the horse -borne army should also be ensured in the river coastal areas, where there is a history of booth capturing. The Election Commission has also given some suggestions to political parties. It states that on completion of polling, polling agents will have to get Form 17C from the Presiding Officer. Many times agents leave their scheduled booths without doing this, which later keeps the scope of unnecessary controversy. BJP President Jaiswal said that in relation to dates, we told the Election Commission that as per the rules, elections can be conducted after a gap of at least 28 days from the date of announcement. For example, if elections are announced in a few days from now, elections can be held by 3-4 November. Jaiswal said that elections should be held as soon as possible and there should be no further delay.
