Gonda (UTTAR Pradesh): On Sunday, a Bolero fell into the Saryu canal in Gonda district of UP, killing 11 people and four seriously injured. Nine people of the dead belong to the same family. Krishna Gopal Rai, the station in -charge of the Writiyathok, said that the devotees were going to offer holy water from Sihagaon to the Prithvinath Temple in Khargupur, when the accident happened near Belwa Bahuta. The in -charge Rai said that 15 people including the driver were riding in the Bolero. 11 bodies were recovered from the submerged vehicle with the help of villagers and rescue teams. Officials said that the bodies have been sent for postmortem and investigation of the incident has been started.
Yogi expresses mourning, help of 5-5 lakhs
CM Yogi Adityanath has mourned the accident. He said that financial assistance of Rs 5-5 lakh will be given to the family. It is said that all the devotees were going from Bolero to Prithvinath Temple Jalabhishek. The devotees were residents of Sihagaon in Motiganj police station area. There were 15 people in the car. 11 died due to drowning in water. While one is missing. On getting information about the accident, Chief Minister Yogi immediately instructed the officers to start relief and rescue work. He said that negligence should not be taken in proper treatment of the injured. The CM has instructed the families of the deceased to provide financial assistance of five lakhs. The reason for the accident is being told as rain. When the Bolero was passing over the bridge, the Bolero fell uncontrollably and fell into the canal due to slippery. While trying to pass the side of the Bolero, suddenly the vehicle slipped and overturned in the canal. The vehicle was completely submerged in the water.
NDRF handled the front
The villagers immediately informed the police and also got involved in rescue work themselves. Later, the administration and NDRF team took the front. On receiving the information of the accident, the DM and SP reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Apart from this, NDRF and local divers also started searching for bodies. The team recovered 11 bodies. There was chaos as soon as the news of the accident reached Sihagaon. There was a shout in families. There was silence in the entire village. The houses of the dead were crying in a bad state. DM Priyanka Niranjan said that this is a very sad incident. Relief and rescue operations are going on. The NDRF and the local team are constantly making efforts to search for the missing person. The accident is being investigated. Local people are being questioned so that the correct information about the cause of the accident can be found.
