UP Accident: Car riders were returning to Prayagraj after attending a wedding ceremony in Kanpur. During this time, the tire of the car exploded near a toll plaza in Fatehpur, causing the car to fall uncontrollably into the pond.
UP Accident: A high speed car fell into the pond on Wednesday on the Kanpur-Prayagraj National Highway in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Four youths died in the accident, while five others were seriously injured. The police officer told here that the car riders were returning to Prayagraj after attending a wedding ceremony in Kanpur. During this time, the tire of the car exploded near a toll plaza in Fatehpur, causing the car to fall uncontrollably into the pond. The police officer said that on receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and with the help of the local people, the car was taken out of the pond. Sahil Gupta (26), Shivam Sahu (28), Ritesh Sonkar (28) and Rahul Kesarwani (25) died in the accident. They were all residents of Khuldabad area of Prayagraj.
Chief Minister Yogi expressed mourning
He said that five other people including car driver Rahul Kumar were injured in this incident. He has been admitted to the hospital in Kanpur in critical condition. Driver Rahul told reporters that as soon as we reached Fatehpur, the car started to falter. I felt that the pressure of the tire would be less. About 10 minutes before the accident, we stopped to check the tire just before the Barauri toll plaza. Everything seemed right, so we moved forward. But barely moving 300 meters ahead, the tire suddenly burst and the car fell uncontrollably into the pond. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while condoing the incident, has instructed the local authorities to provide the best treatment to the injured.
Four workers died in Chhattisgarh too
On the other hand, four workers died and six others were injured when the lift fell from a high altitude in a power plant in Sakti district of Chhattisgarh. Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma told PTI video that the incident took place at RKM Powerjen Private Limited power plant in Dabhra area of the district on Tuesday night. According to the information received, there were 10 workers inside the lift and were coming down after their regular work. The lift suddenly fell and all were injured. He said that all the injured were taken to Jindal Fortis Hospital in neighboring Raigad district, where four workers died during treatment. Sharma said that six others are undergoing treatment. He said that the lift capacity is about 2000 kg and it was recently maintained on September 29.
