CCS Meeting: After the recent ceasefire on the border between India and Pakistan, today, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, an important meeting of Cabinet and Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is going to be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This meeting is being considered important about the stressful situation along the India-Pakistan border, security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir and the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The cabinet meeting will be held at 11 am, after which the CCS meeting will start. According to sources, in this meeting, there may be a thorough discussion on the changed situation on the border after the strategy after ‘Operation Sindoor’, the progress of the Pahalgam attack and the ceasefire. Apart from this, a major decision can also be taken on the basis of reports and intelligence inputs of top officials of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs.
This third meeting of CCS
This will be the third meeting of CCS after the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Earlier, in the first meeting held on 23 April, it was decided to take strict action against the culprits of the attack. After this, in the second meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence on April 30, a detailed review of the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir was given and the three armies were given open exemption for action against the terrorists. As a result of this decision, the Indian forces started ‘Operation Sindoor’, under which not only the terrorists were targeted, but also a befitting reply to Pakistan. During this operation, the Indian Army destroyed Pakistan’s PL-15 missiles and drones in the air, which was informed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Regarding this operation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also praised PM Modi and said that he has shaped the new principle of India.
Who will be involved in the meeting?
The CCS meeting to be held today will take part in the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Defense Minister, Home Minister, Finance Minister and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Apart from this, the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and the three army chiefs are also expected to attend the meeting. Sources say that the next warning or retaliation given to Pakistan in the meeting can be considered. Also, concrete steps can be taken to further strengthen the security system on the border after ceasefire and to prevent terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The progress of investigation of Pahalgam attack will also be discussed, so that such attacks can be stopped in future. Significantly, during ‘Operation Sindoor’, a person was arrested by the Bengaluru police, who made a provocative video against PM Modi. This incident has also made the security agencies alert further.
Review about the situation on the border after ceasefire
After the ceasefire, efforts are on to become normal on the India-Pakistan border, but security challenges are still intact. Today’s CCS meeting may also consider a long -term strategy to deal with these challenges. India has always advocated peace, but its stand against terrorism and provocative actions on the border has been very strict. PM Modi recently revealed in a statement that on which conditions India had agreed to the ceasefire, making it clear that India would not compromise with its sovereignty and security. Today’s meeting will not only further strengthen India’s security policy, but can also prove to be important for regional stability and peace.
