National Film Awards Ceremony: President Draupadi Murmu appreciated the filmmakers at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony on Tuesday. Films focused on women appreciated

She also commented on the low number of female filmmakers receiving the prestigious awards. Said that just as the higher number of winning daughters in the award ceremonies of educational institutions shows the image of a developed India, similarly the same effort should be made in the film awards. I believe that if equal rights are given then the opportunity is that women are capable of performing extraordinary. The President further said that even in areas like art and cinema, there are countless examples of women’s innate talent. Such excellent female talents associated with cinema deserve proper respect. The central and regional panels of the jury should also have adequate representation of women.
Congratulations to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal
In his speech, Murmu also congratulated the National Film Award winners and Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal this year. He praised Mohanlal and described him as a “entire actor”. He said that Mohanlal has comfortably presented soft and difficult feelings. I was surprised to know that he played Karna in a long Sanskrit drama based on Karna of Mahabharata. On one side is a serious film like ‘Vanaprastham’ and on the other side there are so many popular films. I have been told that people were filled with joy after hearing the news of the award to Mohanlal ji. This is a proof that he has made his place in the hearts of innumerable audience. The President said that he saw a glimpse of the entire country in the auditorium, which was filled with the winners of various categories and languages.
