CM Yogi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warned on Wednesday that the two biggest threats facing today’s youth are drug addiction and smartphone addiction. He urged the youth to stay away from these two so that they can safeguard themselves and the future of the nation. CM Yogi was addressing the grand closing ceremony of the 93rd Founder’s Week of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad (MPSP) at Gorakhnath University. He said that a youth trapped in drug addiction cannot fulfill his responsibilities towards the family, society or country. The two biggest threats facing today’s youth are drug addiction and smartphone addiction. They should stay away from both of them to protect themselves and the future of the nation. He welcomed the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) as the chief guest on this occasion.
Youth should be prepared for emerging challenges
The Chief Minister warned the students that the drug mafia is aggressively targeting the young generation. you must be careful. Educational institutions should also be alert. He also said that the youth should be ready for a new fight against drugs because the enemy wants to infiltrate in some form or the other, do not give them a chance. He advised students to reduce screen time gradually, as sudden changes are difficult. Use your phone only when necessary, that too for half an hour or an hour. He warned that excessive use of smartphones damages eyesight, dulls the mind, weakens intelligence and physical abilities. Calling upon the students to be prepared for the emerging challenges, the Chief Minister said that the world has already entered a new era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, drones and robotics.
Emphasis on healthy competition and teamwork
He said that technology will not reduce employment but will create new opportunities. The youth should be mentally and physically prepared for this change. Inspiring the students, he said that success is achieved only by those who remain patient and determined. He said that defeat happens only when our attitude becomes negative. Emphasizing the importance of healthy competition and teamwork, he reminded the students that shortcuts never lead to lasting success. He further said that technology makes life simpler, but also brings new challenges. Educational institutions should be prepared for this. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister and the Governor of Uttarakhand honored the excellent institutions, teachers, staff, attendants and meritorious students at post-graduate, graduate, high school and intermediate levels.
