Congress Leader: Kerala CPI(M) leader and Minister of State V Sivankutty on Friday launched a scathing attack on AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal. He called Venugopal a ‘Trojan horse’ deployed by the BJP to destroy the Congress. It is known that Venugopal had alleged that the Left government of Kerala is working as per the wishes of the BJP government at the Centre. On Venugopal’s allegation, Shivankutty hit back at the Congress leader and accused him of giving wrong advice to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Venugopal had alleged that the Left government had tried to implement the Central government’s labor laws despite concerns raised by Left-supporting trade unions, including CITU and AITUC. He also referred to the recent signing of the PM Shri project by the Left government and said that such steps are highly condemnable.
CPI(M) accused of collusion with BJP
Facing stiff resistance from its key alliance partner CPI, the CPI(M)-led government last month decided to postpone the implementation of the Centre’s PM Shri scheme in the state, even though a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard was signed in New Delhi a few days ago. Responding to the allegations, Sivankutty told the media in Thiruvananthapuram that Venugopal is a great leader. He deliberately gave up his Rajya Sabha candidature to ensure majority for the BJP in the Upper House. Sivankutty, who holds both the labor and education ministries in the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government, alleged that by giving wrong advice to Rahul Gandhi, he was implementing a strategy that weakens the Congress in every state where elections are held. Instead of strengthening the party, he is trying to destroy it. The CPI(M) leader alleged that even when the central investigative agencies are targeting Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, it is important to think why only KC Venugopal is completely safe.
Venugopal is preparing ground for BJP in Kerala
Said that this is proof that there is an active internal nexus between him and BJP. He also claimed that Venugopal’s next goal is to prepare ground for BJP in Kerala. Referring to Venugopal’s continuous interference in Kerala politics, Sivankutty alleged that every Congress worker and leader should understand this step, through which he is digging a hole for his own party. The Left government in Kerala was recently in trouble after the Central government’s draft regulations related to labor codes, which were introduced three years ago, came to light. Left parties have been strongly opposing these labor codes at the national level and have been calling them anti-worker. However, the draft regulation was already notified in the state on December 14, 2021. Shivankutty was forced to issue a clarification on Thursday after media reports said the Centre’s labor codes will not be implemented in the state.
