Delhi Police arrested 4 including fake candidates in CBSE recruitment examination, racket busted

New Delhi: A candidate contacted a proxy person equipped with a Bluetooth device to appear in the CBSE recruitment examination. Delhi Police has arrested four people, including proxy and original candidates. The matter came to an end when an inspector marked biometric mismatch between the two. Officials said on Saturday that the accused have been identified as Sachin (26), Nitin (28), Baljinder (27) and Shyam Sundar (29).

Settled in 12 lakhs, Sachin will give exam instead of Nitin

Police said that BTech graduate Nitin from Jhajjar in Haryana was looking for a government job. He contacted another candidate for his selection. Both Baljinder and Shyam Sundar are Group D employees in Tohana Municipal Corporation of Haryana, who worked as middlemen. Police investigation revealed that Shyam had signed a deal of Rs 15 lakh to ensure his selection with Nitin. Police said that later Shyam included Baljinder, who made arrangements to put Sachin in the examination as Nitin for Rs 12 lakh.

Police said that the accused had also developed a network to identify such candidates and to arrange for the candidate for them equipped with Bluetooth devices and other equipment to copy the recruitment examinations. The matter came to light on 20 April when the examination was conducted for the posts of Superintendent and Junior Assistant in a school in Greater Kailash-2. During the regular check, an inspector found an discrepancy between the biometric data of a candidate and the data of the person present for him. The case was immediately informed to the police.

DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said that Sachin was arrested by officials in plain clothes from outside the examination hall, while Nitin, who was waiting nearby, was arrested shortly after. During interrogation, both revealed the involvement of Baljinder and Shyam, who was arrested from a park in Greater Kailash region after searching. Sachin, a graduate from Rohtak in Haryana, has a history of appearing as a proxy in various examinations. The DCP said, “He was wanted in a similar case recorded in Sikar, Rajasthan.

Four Bluetooth devices, four mobile phones, two laptops, one OMR sheet, two admit cards recovered from the accused

The official said, “We are investigating the involvement of more people in the racket. Police said that four GSM Bluetooth devices, four mobile phones, two laptops, one car, one OMR sheet, two admit cards and one attendance sheet were seized from the possession of the accused. The officials are investigating whether other recruitment examinations were conducted in Delhi and its neighboring states.
