PM Modi: The winter session of Parliament has started from today. The winter session will start from today and continue till November 19. During this period, there will be 15 meetings each in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses, in which MPs will discuss important issues. Before the beginning of the session today, PM Modi addressed the media. Taking aim at the opposition, the PM said that instead of creating ruckus in this session, raise important issues and give a chance to the new MPs to speak.

‘Delivery is needed, not drama’

Speaking to the media as the winter session of Parliament began, PM Narendra Modi said, “Newly elected MPs are disappointed as they are not getting a chance to speak about their constituency and raise important issues of the country. First-time MPs, no matter which party they belong to, should get a chance and we should take it seriously. There are many places to do ‘drama’. There is room for that, but not here. We want delivery, not drama.” The PM said, “Winter session should not become a ground of disappointment of defeat, nor should it become a ground of showing pride in victory. We should maintain balance.”

The new chairman will preside over the Rajya Sabha

PM Narendra Modi further said, “The game that the opposition has been playing for the last 10 years is no longer acceptable to the people. They should change their strategy. I am ready to give them some tips. This winter session is also special because our new Chairman will preside over the Upper House. The GST reforms have benefited the people and we will take these reforms further during this session. For the last few sessions, the House has been used for election purposes or disappointment over defeat. This has been done to make it clear that the leaders in power in some states are not able to visit those states due to public anger and anti-incumbency. Such parties should think about themselves.

Opposition will create ruckus on SIR

Political heat will remain high in the winter session. The opposition has prepared to create ruckus on various issues like SIR, Delhi blast and vote theft. There will definitely be a debate about Bihar elections. Opposition parties are demanding discussion on SIR, internal security and labor code. On the other hand, the ruling party will insist on raising the issue of Vande Mataram. Now it remains to be seen how fruitful this session, which will run till November 19, is for the public.
