Direct collision between bus and tanker in Hathras, four dead, 21 injured

UP Accident: Four people died, while 21 passengers were injured in a horrific road accident on Thursday in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh.

UP Accident: Four people, including a conductor, died while 21 passengers were injured in a horrific road accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. There was an outcry at the spot after the accident. The road was jammed due to the collision of vehicles, due to which long queues of vehicles formed on both sides. Police reached the spot after getting the information, removed both the damaged vehicles from the road and started traffic. The police took the injured to the nearest hospital. Four people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed and 21 were injured in a head-on collision between a roadways bus and a tanker near Samamai village on the Aligarh-Agra highway in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Officials said that the injured were taken to the district hospital, from where four were referred to another hospital in Aligarh. The accident occurred around 4:30 pm on Thursday when the roadways bus going from Aligarh to Hathras collided with a tanker coming from the opposite direction.

DM and SP met the injured

According to the police, the bus driver swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting the motorcycle, resulting in a collision with the tanker near Samamai in Sasni police station area. Some passengers jumped off the bus in panic. Police and local officials first took the injured to Sasni Community Health Center and later to the district hospital. District Magistrate (DM) Atul Vats and Superintendent of Police (SP) Chiranjeev Nath Sinha reached the hospital to meet the injured. Both the officers directed Chief Medical Officer (In-charge) Dr. Rajeev Rai and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Surya Prakash to ensure proper medical care for the injured.

Accident happened while saving biker

The deceased have been identified as Kuldeep (12), Maharaj Singh (50), Sonu (52) and bus conductor Arjun (32). DM said that this accident happened when the bus driver tried to save a bike rider, due to which there was a direct collision with the tanker. 12 injured have been brought here and the death of three people has been confirmed. A woman trapped under the bus has been rescued. Efforts are being made to ensure best possible treatment to the injured. According to the police, after this one more injured person died, taking the death toll to four. Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said that the families of the deceased have been informed.
