Disabled Children Pension: The West Bengal government has taken a big decision for the disabled children of the state. An official gave this information on Monday. The Bengal government has decided to increase the scope of family pension for the employees of government-aided colleges, due to which the disabled children of the college staff will become eligible for lifetime benefits. Now he will get pension from the state government throughout his life.
Will get pension for life
The Higher Education Department issued a notification saying that sons and daughters who are disabled and are not financially independent even after the age of 25 will be entitled to the pension of their parents. An official said, “Earlier, if the employee died, the spouse would get family pension. Last year, the government had expanded the family pension to also include unmarried, widowed or divorced daughters up to 25 years of age. Now the state has further expanded its scope. Now disabled children of employees will get pension throughout their life.”
Employees told landmark
Officials said that the pension amount depends on salary and period of service. To get pension, employees will have to serve for at least 10 years. College staff described the decision as a “landmark”. Similarly, this scheme also applies to disabled children of government employees. They can get pension after the death of their parents, if they are unable to earn on their own. This scheme of the state government will work to ease the difficulties of all those disabled children who have to depend on others because of their body.
