NDA Topper Deepak Kandpal: Deepak Kandpal, a resident of Garud in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, has proved that if there is a passion in the heart and mind to touch the sky, all difficulties including poverty can be defeated. Born in an ordinary family, Deepak’s journey started with struggles and has now reached respect and glory. Deepak Kandpal, son of a taxi driver, was awarded the gold medal by President Draupadi Murmu in the 149th passing out parade of NDA. The family lives in a rented room
Deepak Kandpal’s father, Jeevan Chandra Kandpal, drives a taxi and his mother Geeta Kandpal is a homemaker. The family expenses are covered by the money Deepak’s father earns by driving a taxi. The entire family lives in a rented room in Garud city of Bageshwar. Deepak completed his studies till 8th class by staying in this room. From the very beginning, his dream was to join NDA and he kept working hard to achieve it.
12th from JNV, District Topper and Graduation from DU
Deepak did his early education from St. Adams Public School, Garuda. After this, he studied from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Gagrigul from 9th to 12th and topped the district in 12th. After this, he went to Delhi for further studies and graduated from Delhi University. During this time he prepared for NDA and joined NDA in 2022. Due to his hard work and dedication, today Deepak has become the best cadet of NDA.
NDA’s biggest honor is President’s Gold Medal
President’s Gold Medal is the biggest honor of NDA. This honor was given to Deepak by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi. During his three-year training, Deepak did very well in all academic, physical and leadership tests, earning him this highest honour. The moment of receiving the President’s Gold Medal was a moment of pride for his family.
