This is an auspicious direction for placing the mirror
North direction is considered to be the direction of Kuber, the god of wealth. According to Vastu Shastra, placing a mirror in the north direction is considered most auspicious. Placing a mirror in this direction increases wealth and provides new career opportunities. It attracts positive energy towards itself. East direction is associated with Sun God and good health. After North, placing a mirror in the East direction is also considered very auspicious. This improves the health of the family members and spreads positivity.
Do not place mirrors in these directions
According to Vastu Shastra, placing a mirror in the south direction is inauspicious. The south direction is associated with Yamraj (god of death) and stability. By placing a mirror in this direction, positive energy goes out of the house and negativity comes in. This can cause loss of money, mental stress and sourness in relationships. Apart from this, avoid placing mirrors in the west. Placing a mirror in this direction may increase quarrels and resentment in the house.

Not only the direction, but also the size and location of the mirror matters. According to Vastu Shastra, it is considered best to install a square or rectangular mirror in the house. They are a symbol of stability and balance. Round or oval mirrors and mirrors with multiple angles cause defects. These block positive energy and should be avoided as much as possible. A broken, cracked or blurry mirror should never be kept in the house. This immediately creates Vaastu defects and brings negative energy.
