After the earthquake, Japan issued a tsunami advisory on Friday. The extent of damage and injuries was not immediately known.
Tsunami warning issued
According to Japanese media, after the earthquake, the weather agency in Japan has issued a warning of waves up to 1 meter high. Warning alarms have been sounded continuously in many coastal areas till noon. The Meteorological Department informed that a press conference will be held today at 1 pm on the possible tsunami due to the earthquake that occurred near the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture on the morning of December 12. Earlier on Monday, there was a strong earthquake, due to which Japan had to suffer a lot of loss of life and property.
Continuous earthquakes this week
On Monday, an earthquake of 7.5 magnitude occurred in Japan, which affected the coastal areas of the Pacific Ocean. After this, tsunami also came, which caused damage. At least 50 people were injured in the earthquake. An earthquake of 6.7 magnitude was felt in Honcho city on Tuesday. A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Aomori and Hokkaido on Wednesday. Now another earthquake of 6.7 magnitude occurred on Friday. This means that Japan remained in fear of earthquake this entire week.

Japan’s monitoring agency, within a few seconds of the earthquake, all the information about the earthquake’s center, Richter scale and magnitude is immediately released on all TV channels across the country and warning alerts are sent to people on their phones. Additionally, if there is a threat of a tsunami, a tsunami warning is issued and all danger points are reported on national TV. Emergency services are also activated. Loudspeakers have also been installed in many areas to provide information about the disaster. Overall, this information is issued within sixty seconds so that people can go to a safe place in view of the danger of earthquake.
