EC Preparation: Training of election officers of 4 states starts

118 participants from Uttar Pradesh, 130 from Madhya Pradesh, 96 from Chhattisgarh and 29 from Haryana. This training is necessary to ensure the operation of elections.

New Delhi: In view of the assembly elections in Bihar and Assam, the Election Commission has started preparations. In this series, the Election Commission started training of 373 election officials of 4 states on Thursday. The eighth batch of training for booth level officials (BLO) and supervisors at the Indian International Democracy and Election Management Institute (IIDEM), New Delhi, began on Thursday. 118 employees of Uttar Pradesh are taking training

He said that the election officials have the biggest batch ever. This includes 118 from Uttar Pradesh, 130 from Madhya Pradesh, 96 from Chhattisgarh and 29 from Haryana. In the last two months of election preparation, the Election Commission has trained more than 3,720 officials in New Delhi. Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar said that this training is necessary for conducting elections as per the instructions issued by the Election Commission and Election Commission from time to time by the Election Commission.

BLO verification of voters

The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that through training, the participants will equip themselves under Section 24 (A) of RP Act 1950 under Section 24 (A) of the DM/District Collector/Executive Magistrate and under Section 24 (B) against the provisions of the first and second appeal against the final voter list published with the Chief Election Officer (CEO) of the State/Union Territory. He also encouraged BLO and BLO observers to make voters aware of these provisions during their field level verification.

EVM and VVPAT also trained

It is noteworthy that after the completion of special summary revision process, no appeal was filed from Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh from 6-10 January 2025. The purpose of the training is to increase the practical knowledge of voter registration, form monitoring and electoral processes. So that the election can be conducted safely. Officers will also be given technical performance and training of EVMs and VVPATs including rehearsal of elections.
