Meanwhile, the Election Commission on Thursday said that more than 1.95 lakh claims and objections have been received so far to add and remove the draft voter list of Bihar, out of which around 25,000 have been settled. During this, CPI (ML) has filed 79 and RJD has filed 3 petitions.

National parties did not register objection

Apart from this, no national party including BJP and Congress has given claims and objections yet, while the process is still four days left. The Election Commission did not clarify how much to remove 1,95,802 petitions under claims and objections and to take seriously. An official said that due to various reasons, claims and objections are negligible as compared to more than 60 lakh names removed from the draft list. The Election Authority had said on Monday that according to the draft list, 99.11 percent documents have been received so far out of 7.24 crore voters. The draft voter list was published on August 1 under the special intensive revision of Bihar’s voter list.

11 asked to accept documents

The Election Commission on Sunday emphasized that the duration of claims and objections not only gives voters an opportunity to rectify mistakes in the draft list, but also gives an opportunity to submit its necessary documents, which they would not have provided while submitting their calculations. In 60 days from 24 June to 24 August, 98.2 percent people had submitted their documents. The Supreme Court has now asked the Election Authority to accept the Aadhaar or any of the 11 documents listed by the Election Authority to accept the voter list name. The Election Commission has requested the Supreme Court that it has maintained confidence in the SIR of voter lists in the electoral state Bihar.
