Education in Jamia Milia Islamia expensive, fees increased by 41%

Studies in Jamia Milia Islamia will now become very expensive. The university administration has announced an increase in fees of various courses by 16 to 41% for the new academic session.

The university administration has announced an increase in fees of various courses by 16 to 41% for the new academic session. This increase has been implemented in the courses of social science, professional and foreign languages. However, due to this increase, parents as well as students will also get a lot of financial burden.

According to the new prospectus, the fees in Persian department have increased by 41%, due to which the annual fee has increased from Rs 6,700 to Rs 9,475. Apart from this, the Arabic department has also seen an increase of 37.15%, due to which the fees have increased from Rs 7,200 to Rs 9,875. Foreign language programs such as BA (Hons) Turkish and Sociology courses such as MA and BA (Hons) political science have also increased by 32.99%, which has increased the fees of these courses from Rs 7,425 to Rs 9,875.

B. 34.29% increase in B.Sc, Geography, Mathematics and Physics

Science courses such as B.Sc, Geography, Mathematics and Physics have increased by 34.29%, due to which their fees have increased from Rs 7,800 to Rs 10,475. BTech fees have increased by 19.04 percent, which has increased from Rs 16,150 to Rs 19,225 per year, while MTech programs have now increased to Rs 21,375 per year, which shows an increase of 16.48 percent. The method programs including LLM (regular) and BA LLB (Hons) have increased by 19 percent, due to which the fees have increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,850 per year.

Meanwhile, the university has also announced to start 14 new courses. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score will be used for admission. This year 25 programs – nine graduates, five postgraduates, eight diplomas and three advanced diploma courses – will give admission to students on the basis of CUET merit, compared to 20 last year.
