Rajasthan Hospital Fire: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Jogaram Patel and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Badham visited the Trauma Center to take stock of the situation.
Rajasthan hospital fire: 6 patients died due to fire late on Sunday night at the Trauma Center of Government Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur. Dr. Anurag Dhakad, in -charge of the Trauma Center, said that when the storage area caught fire, 11 patients were undergoing treatment at the Neuro ICU. It is feared that the fire started due to short circuit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the accident. Said that I have condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. The state government has formed a high -level committee to investigate the incident. According to officials, the deceased have been identified as Sikar resident Pintu, Jaipur resident Dilip and Bahadur, Bharatpur resident Srinath, Rukmini and Khurma. Dhakad said that six people died in the incident, including two women and four men.
Many documents, ICU equipment also ash
He said that fourteen other patients were admitted to a separate ICU. All were successfully evacuated to safe places. The fire caused panic in the building as the dense smoke spread quickly, causing panic among the patients and their families. Many documents, ICU equipment and medical materials were destroyed in the fire. Firemen overcame the fire in about two hours. Ward Boy Vikas, who was present at the scene, told PTI that before the fire broke out, he and other staff members rescued more and more people. He said that when we came to know about the fire, we were inside the operation theater, so we immediately ran to save the people inside the center. However, we could not go inside the building due to the flames intensified. We tried our best to save more and more people.
Chief Minister visits Trauma Center
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Jogaram Patel and Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham visited the Trauma Center to take stock of the situation. When Patel and Bedham arrived for the first time, some patients’ relatives alleged that the employees ignored the initial warning and fled during the fire. The Chief Minister also spoke to doctors and patients. He described the incident as very unfortunate and assured that immediate relief measures are being taken. He said that we are ensuring the safety, treatment of patients and care of affected persons. After the incident, the state government has announced the formation of a committee for intensive investigation.
Committee will investigate the cause of fire
This committee will consider the reasons for the fire, preparation to deal with the emergency of the hospital, security measures and measures to prevent such incidents in future. This committee will be chaired by Iqbal Khan, Commissioner, Department of Medical Education. This committee will submit its detailed report after inspection of the scene and reviewing all aspects of the incident. Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also described the incident as a heartfelt and urged the state government to conduct a high-level inquiry to ensure that such incidents should not be recurred in future. Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Julie also expressed grief. All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot also visited the hospital and expressed grief over the incident.
