First ‘Made in India’ Chips: India’s first indigenous chip, which was prepared in the semiconductor lab of ISRO, will be known from the name of Vikram from now on.

First ‘Made in India’ Chips : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘Seemicon India 2025’ conference in Delhi, the capital of the country. In this 3 -day conference, India will be focused on advancing a strong, strong and durable semiconductor environment. On this special occasion, PM Modi was gifted by Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to the first chip made in India. The country’s first indigenous chip is named Vikram. Vikram is a 32-bit microprocessor, which has been prepared by India’s Space Agency ISRO. Let us know that this chip is designed to use in extreme conditions of space launch vehicles.

Vikram will work in bad conditions

The chip Vikram prepared in ISRO semiconductor lab has many features. Its complete construction has been done in India itself. This chip is fully prepared to use in extreme conditions of space launch vehicles. Regarding this, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this chip is eligible to work with its full potential even in bad conditions. Apart from this, he presented many other types of chips, which are being made by different companies. They have been approved and these are the test chips of 4 projects.

21st century is full of powers

There are many important things while addressing this chip while addressing Seemicon India. The PM said that the world trusts India. The world is fully prepared to create the future of semiconductor with India. He further said that India is continuously playing its participation in the semiconductor sector and is moving forward.

India is sure to become the third largest economy in the world. The PM further said that the power of the 21st century is in a small chip.

Many crores is being invested

During this, in his address, PM Modi said that in the year 2021 we started the Semcon India program. By the year 2023, India’s first semiconductor plant was approved. Since then, in the year 2024, we approved additional plants. Since then, in the year 2025, we approved 5 additional projects. Tomorrow, more than Rs 1.5 lakh crore is being invested in 10 semiconductor projects, which reflects India’s growth confidence.
