Clumble stopped due to drowning of Nigabodh Ghat
The flood water has also reached the Hanuman Baba temple with Shri Marghat near Kashmiri Gate. A devotee said that every year when the water level of Yamuna rises, the idol of Lord Hanuman is bathed. This is holy water. We respect it. On Wednesday, Nigambodh Ghat was submerged, which stopped work in the crematorium. Geeta Colony Cremation Ghat was also filled with water. However, Sanjay Sharma, head of the crematorium, told PTI-video that he has not stopped operations. He claimed that water entered the crematorium in 2023 and today it is again filled with water about 10 feet deep. The damage is very big because all the wood outside has been wasted. We are not getting any help from the administration. He said that since some cremation ghats have already been closed, people are coming from far and wide to Geeta Colony Cremation Ghats. He said that we are somehow managing the funeral, but the road inside the crematorium is worth using. Right now we are cremating on the road, but if the water level rises further, it can also stop.

Huge waterlogging increased in civil lines
This is a double hit for Delhiites, because there is a lot of problems in traffic due to waterlogging due to continuous rains and floods in Yamuna for the last few days. There is news of heavy waterlogging in civil lines near Chandgi Ram Akhara. Local people alleged that every time it rains, such waterlogging occurs, but the officials have failed to improve the situation. The flood control bulletin released on Wednesday evening states that the level of Yamuna on the old railway bridge will be 207.48 meters at 8 am on Thursday. It is to be known that the old railway bridge acts as a major observation point to monitor the river flow and potential floods. According to the Revenue Department, 8,018 people have been taken to tents, while 2,030 people have been transferred to 13 permanent shelters. The government has said that there is no need to panic and the situation is being monitored round the clock.
