Tripura News: Eco Park, roadside market and forest product centers are not only environmentally friendly, but can also prove to be extremely beneficial for the state’s economy and local community.
Tripura News: Northeast state Tripura is now moving towards giving new wings to its tourism. The state government has announced that it will develop eco-friendly tourist destinations in six districts. This will not only be a step towards environmental protection, but will also become a medium to provide employment to the local people. This initiative of the Tripura government can give a new dimension to the state’s tourism.
Eco Park worth crores in six districts
Tripura Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma on Wednesday informed that eco parks will be built except six districts of the state, Dhalai and South Tripura. Each park will cost around ₹ 10 crore and will be operated by Joint Forest Management Group (JFMG). These parks will be developed on the forest land and through them the local people will get a livelihood opportunity.
Tourism resources will develop from JICA Fund
The minister informed that all tourist-related infrastructure development works including Eco Park will be done from the funds of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The government’s focus is on the creation of long -term permanent properties, so that the state can get economic benefits in future also.
Chief Minister’s world class tourism mission
The Chief Minister of the state Manik Saha is working on a mission to develop Tripura as a world -class tourism destination. In this episode, this scheme of Forest Department can play an important role. The Forest Minister further said that the department will create a better sales centers for those selling roadside vegetables and agricultural products. For this, a total of ₹ 120 crore will be invested under JICA and Indo-German Development Project (IGDC). Under this, 11 forest product centers will be set up in 11 blocks of Dhalai district, in which each one will cost ₹ 50 lakh.

These sales centers will not only provide permanent infrastructure, but especially tribal farmers will get a chance to sell their agricultural products from a respectable place. This will give the rural economy strengthened and the local people will get a source of better income.
