VS Achuthanandan Passes Away: Former Kerala Chief Minister and senior leftist leader VS. Achuthanandan (Vs anchuthanandan) He died at the age of 101 and CPI (M) expressed deep condolences on the death. Achuthanandan was ill for a long time and was admitted to the hospital after a heart problem. Now the Communist Party of India (Markist) himself has given information about his death. CPI (M), in one of his statements, described Achuthanandan as an excellent leader and an experienced person of the communist movement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed condolences on the death of Achuthanandan and wrote in a post on his social media that I am saddened by the death of former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan. He dedicated many years of his life to public service and Kerala’s progress. I am getting fresh memories of those days when both of us were the Chief Ministers of our respective states. My condolences are with his family and supporters in this hour of grief.
Joined CPI at the age of 17
Activists loved Achuthanandan with love and were called skilled organizers, who led various conflicts in Kerala. CPI (M) said that he was first introduced during the trade union movement and during that time he organized coconut fiber laborers working in Aspinwall Company. In 1940, VM Communist Party joined the age of 17. Meanwhile, Krishna Pillai gave him the job of agricultural laborers in Kuttnad, who were being exploited in a fierce manner by the landlords. Apart from this, the party said that VM had to be underground during the Punnpara-Vayalar rebellion against the Diwan of Travancore. After arresting together, he was tortured fiercely.

Let us know that VS was elected to the State Committee of the Joint Communist Party in the year 1956 and the National Council in 1958. He was the last of the 32 living members of the National Council who left the party to form the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He worked as Secretary of Kerala State Committee of CPI (M) from 1980 to 1991. Achuthanandan was elected to the party’s central committee in 1964 and then made a member of the Polit Bureau in 1985. After this, from the year 2006 to 2011, the Chief Minister of Kerala was also seated. At the same time, in 2022, he was freed from the Central Committee due to old age.
