A 14 -year -old girl was gangraped inside a madrasa hostel lying vacant in Kadamtala area of North Tripura. The police gave this information on Sunday. Police said the incident took place on Saturday night when the girl, a resident of a village in Dharmagar subdivision, was going to attend the wedding ceremony of a relative in the same area. Jayant Debnath, in-charge of Kadamtala police station, said that he was kidnapped by two people, including a minor and took him to an empty madrasa hostel nearby, where he gang-raped him in turn. Later he left him and ran away.
Police raids from place to place to catch other accused
He told that when the girl returned home and told her parents her tragedy, the angry villagers started searching for the accused and the same night the 19-year-old accused was caught from her house. The villagers handed over the accused to the police. In view of the resentment of the villagers, the police is also stepping up. The police have arrested him for his involvement in the case. A search operation has been started to catch the remaining accused.
Station in -charge Debnath said that medical examination of the victim has been done and her condition has been said to be stable. He said that the police have registered a case against both of them under the Poxo Act. The police is conducting further investigation.
