CM Saini announced to give Rs 31 lakh from his discretionary fund for the construction of Dharamshala of Goswami Samaj Sabha in Kurukshetra.
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced on Friday that a major intersection in Haryana and a large library to be established in Hisar will be named after Tulsidas. Addressing the gathering at his government residence at the state level function organized on the birth anniversary of Pujya Sant Tulsidas, Saini also announced that the Haryana government would write a letter to the OBC Commission and recommend the ‘Gosai’ community to be included in the central OBC list. On this occasion, Saini announced to give Rs 31 lakh from his discretionary fund for the construction of Dharamshala of Goswami Samaj Sabha in Kurukshetra. Highlighting cultural and social importance on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this festival reflects India’s rich cultural heritage, moral values and social harmony.
Tulsidas’s teachings still relevant today
He said that Goswami Tulsidas ji’s name calls for devotion, knowledge and righteousness. He was not only a poet or saint, but a visionary person who, through his immortal epic ‘Ramcharitmanas’, directed Indian society to widespread disappointment and the ideals of Lord Rama in the time of social evils. Saini said that Tulsidas’s teachings are as relevant today as they were before and the source of inspiration for the whole of humanity. Speaking on government initiatives, Saini said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission and the OBC community is now getting the benefit of reservation in medical education, military schools, central schools and Navodaya schools. He said that the Haryana government is committed to the welfare of all sections of the society, following the mantra of everyone’s support, the development, the faith of everyone, everyone’s efforts.
OBC community gets respect
Saini set the outline of many welfare measures for backward classes. In which the income limit of creamy layer is to increase from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh annually. Apart from this, reservation benefits in Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies, a concessional education loan of up to Rs 20 lakh for study in India and scholarships under Dr. Ambedkar Meritorious Students Scheme at 4 percent annual interest rate. He said that for the first time after independence, Prime Minister Modi has honored the OBC community. Confirming his government’s approach, the Haryana CM said that our revolutionary freedom fighters sacrificed everything to ensure that the coming generations could breathe freely and see a developed India.
