Mumbai-Pune land deals: Maharashtra Congress president Harshvardhan Sapkal on Saturday demanded that the state government issue a ‘white paper’ on land deals in Pune and Mumbai. Also, organize a whole day discussion on this issue during the upcoming winter session of the Assembly. Sapkal alleged that large-scale irregularities were taking place in land deals across the state and the masterminds behind the land scam were working from the ministry. He termed this transaction as a collective criminal act. He accused the BJP-led grand alliance government of protecting those involved. Sapkal alleged that the Mahayuti government has become completely shameless. Every day a new scam comes to light, but no action is taken. The ruling party leaders and their relatives are looting the state. In Mumbai and Pune, land worth crores of rupees has been grabbed at throwaway prices.

Said- Investigation committee is just a show

Citing the Pune land case, he claimed that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar bought 40 acres of ‘Mahar Watan’ land for Rs 300 crore by paying only Rs 500 stamp duty. The proposal to build an IT park on that land was approved in a hurry and the documents were modified. Now the government is saying that the deal has been cancelled. This is a confession. Why has no action been taken till now? Why is Parth Pawar’s name missing from the FIR? Sapkal alleged that Parth Pawar’s company had earlier encroached on government agricultural dairy land in Pune’s Bopodi area by using forged documents. The Congress leader also raised questions on the source of money used to purchase the land. Claimed that it had come through a sugar mill. Who gave this money and how? People should get answers. The investigation committee appointed by the government is just a show. Referring to other alleged land irregularities, Sapkal said Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol had grabbed the land of a Jain boarding trust in Pune.

BJP’s love for ‘Vande Mataram’ opportunistic

‘Vande Mataram’ Sapkal said that though the deal was later cancelled, no action was taken against the charity commissioner concerned. Mohol has denied the allegations in the Pune Jain Trust land deal. Sapkal said that there were huge irregularities in the land acquisition for Pune’s Ring Road and Samriddhi Expressway project. People should know who has really benefited from the Samriddhi Project. The government should issue a white paper on all such land transactions. Speaking at BJP’s nationwide programs to mark 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, Sapkal accused the ruling party of using it for political purposes. He said that RSS never sang ‘Vande Mataram’ in its shakhas. This song contains the history of sacrifice for the freedom movement. It should not be used to create communal or religious tension. BJP’s love for ‘Vande Mataram’ is illusory and opportunistic.
