The Gujarat State Child Rights Protection Commission has sought a report on the incident from a private school in Ahmedabad in which a student studying in class 10 was allegedly stabbed to death by a fellow student. The incident took place on Tuesday near the main gate of Seventh Day Adventist School located in Khokhra area of the city. The injured student died during treatment the same night.

Performance outside school

State Child Rights Commission Chairman Dharishtha Gajjar said that it is natural for people to get angry over such an incident. We have come to know that an FIR has been registered. We have asked the school to report the incident. We will take action based on the report. The killing of the boy has caused resentment among students and parents. At least 20 members of the Indian National Students Union (NSUI) were detained on Thursday for protesting outside the school. Along with NSUI activists, many former and current students and their parents also protested outside the school demanding action against the school management. Due to the protest, a large number of policemen were already deployed outside the school located in Khokhra area of the city.

20 NSUI workers in custody

An official of the police control room said that at least 20 NSUI activists have been detained from outside the school. The situation is under control. Joint Police Commissioner of the Crime Branch of the city, Sharad Singhal made it clear that the accused, who has already been detained, is also a student of class 10 and is not of class 8. On Tuesday, the deceased student was allegedly stabbed to death by the accused Kishore after a minor argument. After his death, on Wednesday, the mob vandalized the school and alleged that the school teachers and management did not take timely action to save the injured student after the attack.
