Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: In Jammu and Kashmir Pahalgam, terrorists have launched a big attack, after which there has been a stir. In Besrana area of Pahalgam, militants targeted a group of tourists, killing one tourist and 12 others were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital in Anantnag. Home Minister Amit Shah strongly condemned the attack, saying, “I am saddened by the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahaltam, Jammu and Kashmir. My condolences are with the families of the dead. The people involved in this heinous attack will not be spared. We will take strict action against the criminals and punish them strongly.” The meeting reviewed the situation and security arrangements after the attack with senior officers of the army and intelligence.
Terrorists kept firing continuously for 3-5 minutes
According to the information received so far, the terrorists fired indiscriminately on the tourists enjoying horse riding in the Baisrana region of Pahalgam, it is being told that the firing continued for about 3 to 5 minutes. After the incident, the terrorists escaped from the spot. Security forces have started search operation in the area. Victor Force of the Indian Army, Special Force, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF are jointly running the operation. The 15 core commander of the army, Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, reached the spot by helicopter and took stock of the situation.

Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel are stationed at the scene. A intensive operation is being conducted in the upper areas of the valley to search for terrorists. According to sources, the terrorists had raked the area before the attack and the security agencies also received an alert for the attack.
Leaders condemned the attack
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed the attack as “disgusting”, saying, “The attack on tourists is inhuman. Criminals are poor and despise it.” Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and BJP leader Ravinder Raina also strongly condemned the attack.
Increasing terrorist activities in Kashmir
This attack is one of the largest terrorist attacks on tourists in recent years. According to sources, 90% of the terrorists present in Kashmir have infiltrated from Pakistan. After the attack, concerns about the safety of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra have also increased.
